competitor hi res RGB.jpgWhen comparing portable storage companies, keep these three things in mind:  customer service, product quality, and storage options.

Customer Service
Find out if you're dealing with a local office or a call center. Do you need a mobile storage container delivered right away or can it wait? As a locally owned and operated franchise, UNITS Mobile Storage offers you personal, gold standard service. We can also provide quick turnaround service on most last minute requests. Many companies require several days advance notice.

Product Quality
Follow these three guidelines when comparing the quality of each product: determine if the storage container will be watertight, understand how your belongings will be secured during transit, and clarify how you will see while inside the container. Unlike some of its leading competitors, UNITS storage containers have an integrated roof structure (vs. roof cap), which keeps the container watertight. The roof itself is both bowed and translucent, which promotes the natural roll-off of water and allows for optimal visibility while working inside the container. UNITS containers also feature an e-racking system, which allows belongings to be safely secured to the walls of the storage container

Do you have antiques or fine furniture you wish to have stored in a temperature-controlled warehouse? Be sure to ask if a company's warehouse offers both heat and A/C. Many simply offer heat in the winter months. UNITS Mobile Storage offers heat and A/C in its secure, state-of-the-art warehouse.

By researching and comparing these key elements, you'll eliminate any surprises and ensure your valuable belongings will be stored in a secure, watertight mobile storage container.

Moving in Winter a Snap

packing19.jpgMoving in Cold Weather

Moving is a tough ordeal to put a family through any time of the year, much less during the winter months. But, sometimes the need to relocate is out of one's control due to a big life change, such as accepting a new job or opportunity, which may force your family to pack up and relocate during the cold winter months. If your move is across the state or across the country, the task becomes that much harder. It's not just being out in the arctic weather that makes the situation difficult, it's having to keep a close eye on the extreme weather that could affect your transportation plans (e.g. packers, movers, closing deadlines).

One way to help to make the process easier is by selecting a moving service that can help make loading and transporting your items as easy as possible. UNITS Mobile Storage provides the convenience and expertise in transporting your items to help make moving during the cold winter months a snap. This is done by taking one of the most difficult parts of moving in the winter months out of the equation: traveling.

Convenience in Packing Your Items

One of the hardest parts of using a delivery truck in the winter is having to rush to load the truck, move your items and return the truck, all before your deadline so you avoid any of those pesky extra fees. Having to rush packing and traveling is never a good idea, especially during the winter, when the roads are at their most treacherous. UNITS Mobile Storage removes this added stress by delivering your moving and storage containers directly to your home or place of business for you to load at your leisure. There is no pressure to meet tight deadlines nor restrictions on the time you have to load your belongings. This allows you to take time to carefully pack and load your valuable possessions and choose the right days (and weather) to pack your items.

Transporting Your Belongings

Winter makes going anywhere difficult. Traveling with all or most your possessions only magnifies the situation. Winter brings the hardest travel time of the year with snow and ice, which can often make roads slick and unpredictable. This is certainly not the best time for you to get behind the wheel of a bulky moving truck for the first time. UNITS Mobile Storage can take this task off your hands by picking up your storage container when you are finished packing and transporting it directly to your new home for you. Let an expert in winter driving handle your delivery for you.

It's All About The Boxes

packing28.jpgMoving? You can never have enough packing boxes. Make sure you invest in clean, sturdy boxes. When it comes to packing, you'll be glad you did. Boxes stack much easier when they are the same size and strength. It's really tempting to grab extra boxes from the grocery or local retail establishments, but they can be soiled or slashed, which might adversely affect your belongings.

In addition to a wide variety of boxes, UNITS offers packing paper, bubble wrap, disc padlocks, mattress covers, tape, tape guns, cambuckle straps, stretch wrap, hand trucks, and much more. UNITS will even buy back any unused supplies at full price. You can have any/all supplies and moving accessories delivered at the same time as your UNITS mobile storage container.

When you're ready to make the move, call UNITS at 678-838-6556 to place your order for packing supplies. For more information, see Atlanta storage, or find out what Kudzu customer reviews reveal about UNITS.

inside with integrated roof text.jpgGreat Experience
"We had a pipe burst which led to a flooded garage. We were able to get the Unit the next day after we called. Service was great! Then when we were done and ready for it to be picked up they came the very next morning after our call. This may seem like a minor detail but when you are dealing with several other vendors at the same time for dumpsters etc and we had to keep calling and calling them to come pick up their items, so the quick response/service we received from Units was a breath of fresh air!"

UNITS Mobile Storage of Atlanta is donating several portable storage containers to The Hoots Group, a leading green builder in the Southeast, for the 2010 Southern Building Show Earthcraft House certified project, Midtown Green House. The Hoots Group is using the containers to securely store building materials and equipment during construction of the green home.

UNITS Mobile Storage has donated the storage space needed for these reusable materials, while the Fuller Center locates a warehouse or retail outlet to store and sell these items to the public.

"The primary benefits of using mobile storage for contractor jobs are fewer materials go to the landfill since they can be reused and recycled into new projects, and the donors receive tax credits by recycling, which is still a net positive even when adding in the nominal cost of portable storage," said Stefanie Miller, owner of UNITS Mobile Storage of Atlanta. "It's exciting to have this opportunity to work with The Hoots Group on their green project and to help Mark Galey with his efforts at the Fuller Center."

The Hoots Group will be showcasing its new Earthcraft House certified home through its various stages of construction, all of which is being documented on midtowngreen.net.
