Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for units_sm.jpgDo you have lots of items that you do not have room to store in your house?  Do you use these items every year, every other year or not at all?  After you donate some items to charity, sell some at the local resale shop, and throw away what no longer can be used, do you still have some items you are not ready to part with?

There is an inner pack rat in all of us.  I have the chest my family used to hold their belongings while immigrating to the US from Sweden.  I also have a huge amount of holiday and seasonal decorations and several pieces of heirloom furniture that my children will get once they have houses of their own.   This is my inner pack rat confession!  What do you have?

I use a portable storage unit to store these items until I am ready to give them to family members or I can detach myself from them and sell them.  UNITS Milwaukee has a small storage unit (8 x 8 X 12) that is the perfect size.  Call UNITS Milwaukee at 414-476-UNIT (8648) to get a 12 foot storage unit delivered to your home for your inner pack rat.

Moving In Checklist

·         When you arrive at your new home, check appliances, utilities and heating/cooling systems to prevent unpleasant surprises.  Arrange for repairs if necessary.

·         Make sure your new phone service is working and that you can receive mail.

·         Clean your new home and get ready for your UNIT to arrive.

·         When your UNIT portable storage container arrives, show the driver where you want it placed.

·         Start unloading, but remember you have days or weeks or as long as you need to unload.  This is one of the many benefits of using a portable storage container when moving.

·         Remove "last load" and "essential boxes" first.

·         Start unloading and placing furniture and boxes in the designated room.  Now the floor plan and box labeling really pays off.

·         Setup essentials first (i.e. microwave, coffee maker, alarm clock, beds).

·         Setup kitchen and bathrooms first.  Once these rooms are functioning, you can focus on the rest of the house at a more relaxed pace.

·         Have some fun.  Take time to enjoy your new surroundings.  Help the kids and pets get settled in their new home.

·         After your goods are unloaded, contact UNITS at 414-486-UNIT (8648) to have your portable storage container picked-up.

·         Make sure the UNIT is swept clean of debris, unlocked and accessable to our delivery truck.  On the day of pick-up make sure the UNIT is unlocked!

UNITS Mobile Storage of Milwaukee wants to thank you, once again, for your business.  It was a pleasure being you portable storage container company!

Spread the word about how easy it was to move with UNITS.  We will offer a discount to friends and family members of our previous customers!  Have them call us at 414-476-8648 and ask for the "friends and family" discount.

Moving Out Checklist

·         When your UNIT is delivered, verify with the driver where you want the portable storage unit placed and sign for delivery.

·         You are responsible for how your goods are packed and loaded in your UNIT.   Check out Packing Tips blogs.  Personally supervise hired labor.

·         Load your goods in a pre-designated order, saving "last load" items and "essential boxes" for the rear of the portable storage unit.

·         Check every room, closet and cabinet one last time before finishing and locking the portable storage unit.

·         Once your goods are loaded, lock your UNIT and put the key somewhere where you will remember (i.e. on key ring or in purse).

·         Keep a friend or family member informed of your plans and locations in case of an emergency or unforeseen event.

Stay cool and relaxing knowing your belonging are being transporting to your new home.  Call us at 414-476-8648 or e-mail at units@brewtown.net with any questions.  We are here to take the hassle out of moving and storing.

Remember when moving and storing with UNITS you have as many days as you need to load.  Load some everyday so the job is not overwhelming.  We can be reached at 414-476-8648 to answer your loading questions.
