November 2009 Archives

Many of our customers at UNITS ask how to pack their belongings. There are many things to consider when packing: weight of boxes, durability of belongings, and ease of access. Here are a few of my favorite moving tips:

• Do not over pack boxes; bulging box sides can damage surrounding boxes and not protect what is inside.

• Place liquid containers in plastic bags to reduce the chance of leaking.

• Reinforce boxes with an extra strip of packing tape!

• Place heavy items in the bottom of the box and lighter ones on top.

• Remove light bulbs from lamps before packing.

• Place lamp shades in boxes to protect from denting.

• Never pack any item that could cause a fire or damage to the UNIT (no toxic materials, gas, kerosene, fireworks, loaded firearms)

• Pack items from the same room in the same box to make unpacking easier.

• Pack some everyday, so you are not overwhelmed with packing all in one day.

I hope these tips help when packing your UNITS mobile storage container. Remember UNITS Mobile Storage is only a phone call away (414-476-8648) when you need some advice. Check out these additional packing tips from our web site. Happy packing!

Your belongings are important to you. That is why we have gone out of our way to provide you with the best storage container in the Milwaukee mobile storage industry. Our UNITS storage container features reinforced fiberglass bodies, an integrated translucent roof (which allows natural light in and keeps rain out) and steel frame construction.  Every UNIT is made with breathable materials, which means there is no mold or moisture build-up to damage your belongings.

Our ground level access makes loading and unloading safe and easy.  The translucent roof allows light to filter through to aid with better visibility during the packing and unpacking process.

All our storage containers feature the E-strap system which allows items to be strapped right to the UNIT frame.  You will have piece of mind knowing your belongings are secure and dry and not subjected to damage that is possible with traditional moving and storage services.
