When preparing your stuff for storage the first thing to do is to give away or sell everything that you have not touched or used in the past two years. This will greatly reduce the amount of personal possessions that you will need to pack in boxes and store in UNITS containers. Now just fill your boxes with items from each room and make sure to write on the outside of the box the contents. This takes just a few minutes but will save you hours later when looking for something. Do not load light bulbs in with books! Do not put any chemicals, perishables, or flammables in storage units.
